    Declutter Small Areas Daily

As a Feng Shui Practitioner and life-long student of this art, I have to say that I "shway" a little bit every day. I have recognized the power of my spaces to either fuel and inspire me, or distract and overwhelm me. Therefore, I give my space some love daily. It can look like decluttering one small area, like the mail basket or "catch-all", or putting away clothes and shoes that begin to accumulate. As I tell my clients, those things in our home or office that make us hold our breath, or whisper to ourselves, "I'll tackle that another day", are the the ones that need our attention and will help lighten our energetic load. My rule of thumb is... if I can clear up a small space or organize it in 15 minutes or less, I tackle it! I definitely breathe much easier after!

I also love the intentionality behind the science of Feng Shui, so other things that I do regularly is give it a boost of color, depending upon the are of life I want to ignite, and/or I give my space an energetic sweep. I do this by actually sweeping and letting in some fresh air, using sage to detox the air, or tossing some salt into the corners and at the entrance of my home (with a touch of cinnamon for prosperity!).

Finally, every quarter I become the "observer" of my space to look at it holistically and make sure that it is balanced between the 5 elements--water, wood, fire, earth and metal. I'm known to shuffle around furniture and other items in order to create more balance and flow. As we say in Feng Shui, one of the best ways to create harmony is to move 27 things!

A little bit of intention and love of our spaces really goes a long way. What we do on the outside affects us on the inside.

Use Cut Flowers for Positive Energy

One of my favorite ways to create harmony and balance in a room is by incorporating cut flowers to enhance the energy of the space. Flowers bring life and vitality, and their colors, shapes, and placement can influence the room's energy flow.

For example, in my living room, I love placing a bouquet of blue hydrangeas (for calming energy), yellow roses (for cheerfulness), and white lilies (for purity and clarity) on a wooden side table near the center of the room.

I position the flowers to face the seating area, encouraging connection and positive energy among guests. I also avoide clutter around the arrangement, allowing the flowers to be a focal point that promotes tranquility and flow.

    Balance Elements with Color

I have had the opportunity to work with many clients who are interested in incorporating feng shui principles into their homes. Personally, my favorite way to create a sense of harmony and balance in a room is through the use of color.

In one particular home, my client was struggling with creating a peaceful living room space. After discussing their concerns and desires for the space, I suggested using the feng shui principle of balancing the five elements - wood, fire, earth, metal, and water - through color choice.

We incorporated a warm red accent wall (representing fire) paired with natural wooden furniture (representing wood) and earthy accents such as plants (representing earth). We also added metallic accents and a small water feature to balance out the space.

Not only did this design create a visually appealing room, but my client also reported feeling a sense of calm and balance in the space. They were amazed at how such simple changes could make such a big impact on the overall energy of their home.

This experience solidified my belief in the power of feng shui and its ability to bring harmony and balance into our living spaces. I have since incorporated feng shui principles into many of my clients' homes with great success, and it has become an integral part of my real estate services.

    Balance Yin and Yang Energy

A fundamental aspect of feng shui is the idea of Yin and Yang, which stand for feminine and masculine energy, respectively. There is a sensation of calm and harmony in a space where these energies are perfectly balanced.

A lovely garden is visible from a huge window in my living room. I included a water feature on the window's right side to capture the good vibes from this outdoor area. In feng shui, water is a sign of riches and prosperity; arranging it in this way permits abundance to enter my house. To symbolize wood, which stands for growth and vigor, I positioned a tall, green plant on the left side of the window. The living area has a calm and harmonious ambiance thanks to this layout, which brings the ideal balance of Yin and Yang energy.

The arrangement of furniture in a space is another important component of feng shui. Unease and discomfort can result from a congested and unorganized space that interrupts the flow of positive energy. I took sure to position my furniture to facilitate smooth mobility and energy flow in order to generate a sense of harmony. Additionally, since sharp edges and corners can generate negative energy, I refrained from positioning them in front of the main seating area.

Apart from these methods, adding feng shui colors to a room can also significantly affect its energy. Warm, earthy colors like beige, brown, and green, which are linked to grounding and harmony, are what I used in my living area. These hues not only give the space a feeling of balance, but they also make it feel warm and welcoming.

I keep a calm and pleasant energy flow in my living area by routinely cleaning and organizing it. I take care to get rid of any furniture or items that aren't useful or provide happiness to the room. I'm encouraging a sense of balance and well-being by keeping the living area neat and clutter-free so that good energy can flow easily.

    Incorporate All Five Elements

One of my favorite methods to use feng shui principles to create harmony and balance in a space is to make eit in in in sure that each of the five elements-wood, fire, earth, metal, and water-is represented in a balanced manner. The space seems unified and loving because to this method's creation of a holistic energy flow.

I used feng shui in my bedroom to help me relax and encourage sound sleep. I incorporated natural energy by adding a wooden headboard and bedside table. A tiny crimson throw pillow and candles were also used to provide coziness and passion. To balance the intensity, I used bedding in neutral colors like terracotta and beige. I positioned a picture frame and a copper lamp for accuracy and clarity. To create a sense of serenity, I added soft, flowing curtains and a tiny blue vase.

In order to create a feeling of security, I also made sure the bed had a sturdy headboard and was positioned with a clear view of the door but not directly in line with it (a position known as the command position). Personal belongings were arranged symmetrically on either side of the bed to promote balance in relationships, and the mess beneath the bed was cleared to make room for chi. This arrangement was ideal for the room's function because it created a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
